Aggression and Supporting People with Intellectual Disabilities

In this course, we’ll:

  • Explore ways in which aggression may be an expression of another underlying condition or experience.
  • Examine how certain medical or genetic conditions may be associated with increased rates of aggression in people with ID.
  • Discuss possible secondary consequences to aggression.
  • Discuss prevention strategies that may reduce frequency or intensity of aggression.
  • Explore aspects of acute crisis response and follow up.
