The objective of these international clinical recommendations is to provide professionals and parents with an overview of the best-available evidence to make high quality and timely evaluations for more rapid and accurate early detection of infants at high-risk of cerebral palsy to ensure early intervention is accessed. The purpose of these recommendations is to describe how to achieve the earliest diagnosis possible for each child. An international recommendation for the early detection and early diagnosis of cerebral palsy (or high-risk of cerebral palsy) has not previously been available. Information on early assessment tools and recommended early intervention, are contained in a related but separate recommendation based on systematic reviews.
