A Grassroots Guide to Support the Unique Needs and Gifts of People with Disabilities and Those Who Love Them was compiled by a partnership of parents and members of the UNM School of Medicine Center for Development and Disability to aid families locally and across the state in finding help.
The free, 40-page pamphlet not only lists a
number of state agencies but also offers invaluable gems for
families -such as names for local seamstresses familiar with
making the Velcro closing garments needed by persons who use
wheelchairs, or places where a van can be customized for a
person with a physical disability. For more information call
