The Center for Development and Disability, Cate McClain, M.D. Director, consists of numerous programs funded by a variety of different state and federal agencies. All CDD programs are committed to the mission of the CDD and to providing services and supports to individuals with disabilities and their families throughout New Mexico. ADMINISTRATIVE DIVISION

The Administrative DivisionMelody Smith, MBA, Director and Judy Liddell, MBA, Associate Director, directs and oversees administrative and operational support services including accounting and award/proposal processing, human resources, computer services and data coordination, JCAHO compliance, policy/procedure development, facility and resource management and disability awareness.

bullet Research and Evaluation Services
Coordinates a statewide disability & health alliance; utilizes current New Mexico data sets to estimate disability prevalence, and analyzes data gathered in New Mexico through the National Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System.
CASE MANAGEMENT INITIATIVES DIVISION
The Case Management Initiatives Division, Christy Barden, B.S.N, Director, provides individualized, statewide service coordination for individuals who are medically fragile and their families through community and state partnerships, teaching, quality assurance, utilization review, and advocacy.

Provides Registered Nurse Case management/service coordination services statewide for children who are Medically fragile and their families via nine satellite offices.
EARLY CHILDHOOD DIVISION
The Early Childhood Services Division, Mette Pederson, MA, Director, serves young children and their families through teaching, research and service in personnel and program development for early intervention and preschool programs.

The Division of Family and Community Partnerships, Judy Liddell, MBA, Director, works to promote full participation of people with disabilities and their families in their communities through systems change, building community alliances, and providing accessible training and technical assistance.

2002 Report of the Infrastructure StudyInfrastructure Study Project funded by Developmental Disabilities Planning Council was guided by a steering committee of self-advocates, family members, advocates, providers and others representing the Community Support Alliance.This was a study of infrastructure issues related to the recruitment and retention of direct support staff providing DD Waiver services to adults with developmental disabilities in New Mexico was conducted. Contact person: Judy Stevens, Program Director (505)272-1853, jese@unm.edu.

Transition StudyTransition Study Project was a subcontract with UNM College of Education. This study, using focus group interviews, was conducted with students with developmental disabilities, and their families, from various regions across the state to collect qualitative data regarding current and recent experiences related to transition from school to adult life.Contact person: Judy Stevens, Program Director (505)272-1853, jese@unm.edu.

NMONE ProgramNMONE Program is a subcontract with Division of Vocational Rehabilitation through Department of Labor.This project focuses on the research, design, development, delivery and evaluation of training to support quality services for people with developmental disabilities at One Stop Career Centers.Training is based on quality indicators for One Stop Career Center services to people with disabilities.The quality indicators were identified through best practice research and by people with disabilities and other stakeholders. Contact person: Judy Stevens, Program Director (505)272-1853, jese@unm.edu.

bullet Resource and Information Services

LINC is a physical space located at the CDD Midtown Center at 2300 Menaul, Albuquerque NM which serves as a repository of information relevant to the subject areas of human development and disability. It provides services to the CDD staff and the academic community of UNM, people with disabilities or at risk of having disabilities, their families, as well as their caregivers and advocates throughout New Mexico.  Contact person: Araceli Domingo, (505)272-4631, amdomin@unm.edu.

Access to Electronic Health Information for the Public

A project funded by the National Network of Libraries of Medicine, South Central Region. Its goal is to ensure that New Mexicans are given support in accessing health resources electronically and effectively retrieve information on the web to enhance their capacity for making informed decisions about their health, medical care, and general well-being. Internet Access to Digital Libraries (IADL)

This project funded by the National Library of Medicine will provide access to digital health information resources, products and services for health professionals at CDD and its nine satellite sites in New Mexico serving people with disabilities, their families, caregivers and advocates. No Walls
Access to Electronic Health Information for the Public. A grant funded by the National Network of Libraries of Medicine to ensure that New Mexicans are supported in accessing health information about disabilities and to increase their capacity to make informed health care decisions. No Walls is a web portal  (online community technology center ) and a model program supporting the Albuquerque, New Mexico, metropolitan area demonstrating the effectiveness training persons with disabilities, their families, service providers, caregivers, teachers and advocates (target population) on how to access information using assistive and computer technology. CHIP and BabyNet
Is primarily a telephone information and referral service providing links to individuals with disabilities, families, advocates, therapists, and case managers about service providers, support groups, and other local, state, and national resources. The BabyNet information and referral service helps pregnant women and families with small children gain information to access and utilization medical and support services. Assistive Technology

Medicaid Training Initiative information package online provides training and technical assistance for professionals, consumers and family members on how they can access Medicaid funding for augmentative and alternative communication devices. LEADERSHIP EDUCATION DIVISION
The Division of Leadership Education, Carolyn Richardson, EdD, Director, provides both pre-service and in-service didactic and clinical experiences to develop leadership skills in the area of disability research, education and service.

bullet NM Safe Program
Provides a team evaluation and recommendations to assist individuals with developmental disabilities, their families or caregivers in developing eating skills with the purpose of improving health and preventing aspiration.
NEURODEVELOPMENTAL DIVISION
The Neurodevelopmental Services Division, Pat Osbourn, Director, encompasses both typical and atypical neurodevelopment and seeks to provide excellence in teaching, research and service, for both families and professionals, in specific areas of neurodevelopmental disability.

bullet Indian Children's Program (NMICP)
