Outreach and Presentations
The Information Center promotes its services through a variety of outreach and presentation events. Activities include staffing exhibit tables at numerous conferences, national and state association meetings and educational gatherings. Outreach presentations can be tailored to the needs of the organization and typically include information regarding other programs within the Center for Development and Disability.
Informational exhibit tables were provided at annual conferences such as the following:
- Southwest Disability conference
- Steps to Success conference
- Albuquerque Public Schools Transition Fair
- Parents Reaching Out FLAN conference,
- New Mexico Speech and Hearing Association conference (NMSHA)
- New Mexico Occupational Therapy Association (NMOTA) conference
- and others
The staff also provides presentations related to disability information and referral services and other selected topics. Recent presentations were given for staff from several organizations, including the following:
- City of Albuquerque Department of Senior Affairs
- Albuquerque Metro Central Intake (AMCI)
- The Arc of New Mexico
- Vista Care of New Mexico
- Parents Reaching Out (PRO)
- Center for Self-Advocacy
- and others
