The project conducts an annual 3 day Family Support Conference in Albuquerque each August in which over 150 family members from the project attend. This past year a separate conference was planned for the children in attendance so that the adult family members could more comfortably attend the conference sessions. Conference sessions for the adults included; financial planning and budgeting, organizing your childs records, leadership and advocacy skill building, and behavior management. Activities included a family pool party and the childrens activities included field trips to a museum, park, movies and arts and crafts sessions. The evaluations reflected high ratings of the conference sessions and family activities and participants commented that this was one of the best events they had ever been to.
In 2007-2008 The project collaborated with the community health representatives and public health offices to implement a series of training workshops on locating electronic health information. Seven workshops were conducted at the Pueblos .This training opportunity was funded through the National Library of Medicine and are a vehicle for collaborating with pueblo community providers located in Sandoval County.
