Information
REACH Telehealth Network Services
The REACH telehealth network offers the following services
for families of young children with developmental differences and providers.
REACH CLINICAL CONSULT SERVICES
Clinical service providers can offer
- clinical consult to a family and their child,
- resources and information, or
- support and technical assistance to providers of service
to young children with developmental delays or disabilities.
Clinical services available include:
- Speech Language Therapy
- Occupational Therapy
- Physical Therapy
- Developmental Pediatrics
- Psychology
- Educational/cognitive diagnostician services
- Pediatric Nutrition (as available)
- Pediatric Neurology (as available)
REACH works in collaboration with the following Center
for Development and Disabilities Programs:
Early Childhood Evaluation Program (ECEP):
ECEP provides statewide interdisciplinary developmental
evaluation services to children age birth through three. ECEP staff may be
accessed for a telehealth consultation about a specific child or for general
questions of child development, evaluation tools and approaches, intervention
strategies and working with families. ECEP brings staff to consult through
REACH video- conferencing network.
Supports and Assessment for Feeding And Eating (SAFE) Clinic:
SAFE is a lifespan feeding and aspiration prevention clinic
for individuals with developmental disabilities. Multidisciplinary team feeding
evaluations, available at selected community-based sites via interactive videoconferencing,
of children and adults with developmental disabilities, for the purpose of
improving health and preventing aspiration. Specialists include a registered
dietitian, physical therapist or occupational therapist, physician, speech
pathologist with expertise in swallowing disorders.

2006 Training Calendar
- REACH training network
- CEU programs: REACH provides monthly training at selected videoconferencing
sites with CEUs for physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech
language therapists, developmental specialists, teachers and social
workers, on a variety of topics in early intervention.
- CME programs: REACH provides continuing medical education credits
for physicians and other health care providers on a quarterly schedule
at selected videoconferencing sites.
- Southwest
Autism Network, Project SET
- Project SET (Specialized Early Teaching for Young Children
with Autism Spectrum Disorder) promotes the early identification and appropriate
early intervention and preschool services to children with autism and
their families and to build statewide capacity and competence in evaluation
and intervention with this population. The project accomplishes this through
a variety of training, technical assistance and consultation activities.
Services can be access through teleconferencing at network sites.
- Early
Childhood Evaluation Program
- Training and Technical Assistance: ECEP staff is available
to provide specific training technical assistance and videoconferencing
is one way that it can be arranged. Training and technical assistance
typically requested include: administering assessment tools, adapting
tools and materials for special needs, intervention strategies, case discussion
and follow up, or accessing the health care community.
