Quiz 3 - Essay Questions

Answer ONLY ONE of the following questions, keep to a maximum of two pages:

  1. Describe the use of tangible cues such as name signals or signs. Why are they important for a student or child who is deafblind?

  2. It is often stated that it is important to focus and develop activities on the student's or child's interest and needs. Why? Explain and give an example.

  3. Routines are designed to develop anticipation or predictability so that an understanding of words, symbols, objects, pictures, drawings, or signs can be linked to actions. Give and example and explain how it worked.

  4. A child is fussing, biting, pinching, or pulling away. What message do you believe this child is sending? What would you do?

  5. Which communication system does your student/child use in the classroom or home? Describe how it is utilized?
