Functional Analysis
Assignments

VIEW the DVD of C. Tafoya (fictious name). Can you identify a communicative intent? OFF-LINE
READ the Sample Functional Analysis provided. ON-LINE
VIEW the DVD of C. Tafoya for a second time and identify a second communicative intent. Be creative in your description! OFF-LINE
POST your ideas in the VCC--Communicative Intent Room. If someone else has posted your idea, add your own thoughts--do you agree or disagree with that person? ON-LINE
BEGIN PREPARING YOUR FINAL PROJECT--DUE IN 2 WEEKS (Must be received by 05/14)
Here are the steps for you to follow:
  1. Print the Permission Form to record a video and acquire parental permission.
  2. Record a video your student or child for approximately 10 minutes. (You will have to record a video longer (approximately 5 minutes per person) if you are working in a group or team. )
  3. Review recorded video and identify a communicative intent.
  4. Using the sample analyses and/or other sources, develop and write your own analyses describing your student's or child's communicative intent.
