Current Events

This past week, training and technical assistance was provided as follows:

At this time, we wish to thank Daisy Thompson for her dedicated service to the Improving Communities of Practice project during the past four years. Daisy will be officially ending her position as Education and Development Manager on September 29, 2006. She has accepted the Director of Indian Education position in the Albuquerque Public Schools where she will continue her professional journey in Indian Education, educational leadership, special education, technical assistance and service. In her new role, she is committed to serve Native American students district-wide by developing supportive educational opportunities and teaching respect for language and culture differences. She will also continue her doctoral journey in Special Education at the University of New Mexico. The project has been honored by her service in helping chart an ambitious and creative course in supporting school staff’s professional development to address student learning and achievement on the Navajo Nation. We are gratefully appreciative of her service and we wish her well in her professional and doctoral journey.
