From: Dr. Eugene R. Thompson
Director of Educational Leadership
To keep you updated with activities taking place through the CSPD efforts on the Navajo Nation, I am sending you a “Friday Fax” with information about current and upcoming professional development activities.
This past week, training and technical assistance was provided as follows:
The U.S. Department of Education, Office of Indian Education recently had a student art contest. The winners were announced on July 13. The press release and the names of the winners can be viewed at http://www.ed.gov/news/pressreleases/2006/07/07132006.html.
The Office of Indian Education at the U.S. Department of Education also has a newsletter which can be viewed at http://www.ed.gov/rschstat/research/pubs/oieresearch/whatsnew.html. If you scroll down the page, you can sign up to receive the OIE newsletter.
If there are other agency or school offices that may have moved during the summer or if there are new personnel, we’d like your new addresses, phone numbers and fax numbers. We want to make sure that the agency and school offices receive the Friday faxes at your new locations.
Schools may still contact us about how we might help in facilitating a plan of work for your agency or school or for providing training above and beyond what we have currently set out to do in the present scope of work.
