To keep you updated with activities taking place through
the CSPD efforts on the Navajo Nation, I am sending you a “Friday Fax”
with information about current and upcoming professional development activities.
Current Events
This past week, training and technical assistance was provided
as follows:
- The website link for the Arizona Department of Education (ADE) training
on the Introduction to the Academic Articulated Standards in Arizona is:
http://www.ade.az.gov/SBTL/default.asp.
As you may have noticed, the link won’t get you directly to the registration
site. Click on the website address listed in the middle of the page. Then
scroll down to Introduction to the Academic Articulated Standards in Arizona
and click choose and continue where you can register online. Just a reminder
that the event is on March 10. If you view by month, you will be able to
select March, then the 10th. We hope this particular link is accessible
for those teachers and administrators who are interested in registering
online for the March 10 training.
- This past Monday (February 6), inclusion training was conducted for approximately
30 school staff at the T’iisnazbas Community School.
- A meeting was held (February 6) with the Dibe Yazhi Habitiin Olta (Borrego
Pass) principal to discuss need areas for technical assistance.

Data Considerations for IEP Development training for Ft. Defiance Agency
special education teachers at the Navajo Nation Museum (Window Rock).

Planning meeting at UNM-Gallup campus to discuss and plan for a Special Education
Leadership Conference.
March 10, 2006.
Introduction to the Academic Articulated Standards in Arizona training for
teachers and administrators at Sinagua High School mini auditorium in Flagstaff,
