To keep you updated with activities taking place through the CSPD efforts on the Navajo Nation, I am sending you a “Friday Fax” with information about current and upcoming professional development activities.

Current Events

This past week, training and technical assistance was provided as follows:

• The Reading class that was originally scheduled at Wide Ruins Community School during August 12,13, 26 has been rescheduled to begin in September 2005. The exact dates will be forthcoming soon.
• Nine on-site visits were made to four schools in the Western Navajo Agency by our NAU partner: Chilchinbeto Community School, Black Mesa Community School, Jeehdeez’a Academy Cottonwood Day School, Tonalea Day School, Kaibeto Boarding School, Kayenta Community School, Rock Point Elementary School, and Rock Point High school. The purpose of the on-site visits was to follow-up on professional development priorities for the upcoming school year and share the training and technical assistance forms.

If any of your school contacts receiving the Friday fax at your school have changed or are in acting status, please let us know by telephone (505-726-6300/6301) so we can make the proper corrections immediately. We look forward to providing you weekly information this coming school year.

Finally, you may contact us at any time regarding professional development training plans
and/or activities for the new school year. We always look forward to hearing from you as to how we might facilitate a plan or for providing technical assistance or training above and beyond what we have currently set out to do in the present scope of work.
