To keep you updated with activities taking place through the CSPD efforts on the Navajo Nation, I am sending you a “Friday Fax” with information about current and upcoming professional development activities.

Current Events

This past week, training and technical assistance was provided as follows:

• A BEST-School Wide Positive Behavior Support training/follow-up that was previously scheduled for May 19 at the Kaibeto Boarding School for residential and academic staff was cancelled. The follow-up training has been rescheduled for August 11.
• Follow-up telephone calls were made to the Western Navajo Agency grant/community schools concerning the approval of the Project IDEAS training plans.
• On-site visits were scheduled for one school in Ft. Defiance Agency and three schools in Shiprock Agency.
• Technical assistance was provided to the BIA/OIEP/CSI regarding the summer residential institute.

At this time, we wish to congratulate all the graduates (high school and 8th grade) from the BIA-funded schools and best wishes for your future endeavors. Also, our congratulations go to the faculty, staff, and parents of these schools who made it a successful school year for all of the students. Enjoy your summer!

Finally, you may contact us at any time regarding professional development training plans and/or activities for the current or future school years. We always look forward to hearing from you as to how we might facilitate a plan, including Project IDEAS, for your agency or school or for providing technical assistance or training above and beyond what we have currently set out to do in the present scope of work.

• On-site visit to T’iisnázbas Community School.
