This past week, training and technical assistance was provided
as follows:
- The Improving Communities of Practice/Institute for
Human Development at the Northern Arizona University attended the Western
Navajo Agency Meeting of the Minds at the Tonalea Day School (May 10) to
inform school staff of training and technical assistance resources that
are available through IHD/NAU. Approximately twelve school staff participated
in the meeting.

principal at Mariano Lake Community School to discuss support for school
staff as it relates to the academic achievement of students (May 13).
- Queries have begun by the Kinlani Bordertown Dormitory
for some upcoming professional development activities for the residential
staff. Training and technical assistance request forms were faxed to the
residential program.
- The Improving Communities of Practice participated in
a teleconference call with the Residential Life/Center for School Improvement
and the Boys/Girls Town regarding the upcoming Residential Summer Institute

the school staff as it relates to the academic achievement of students.
Finally, you may contact us at any time regarding professional
