A national resource working through a network of
ten regionally based centers. Often
referred to as “DBTACs”. Funded through
five-year grants from the U.S. Department of Education, National Institute on
Disability and Rehabilitation Research (NIDRR). DBTACs focus is the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), other
disability-related civil rights laws and accessible information technology,
especially for educational-entities.
Programs vary in each region, but all centers provide: technical
assistance, education and training, materials dissemination, referral networks,
public awareness.
Independent
Living Research Utilization at TIRR
ILRU is a
program of The Institute for Rehabilitation and Research (TIRR), and is
affiliated with Baylor College of Medicine.
ILRU is supported in part by public and private funding agencies
including the U.S. Department of Education – National Institute on Disability
and Rehabilitation Research (NIDRR) and the Rehabilitation Services
Administration (RSA) and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.
