New Mexico Camp Rising Sun

Recreation Activities

When we're not busy planning for or playing at camp, The Autism Programs partners with various community organizations and instructors to provide inclusive social-recreational programs for adolescents and adults with ASD. This outreach program emphasizes instructor training on best practices for teaching persons with ASD, visual support systems, the inclusion of peers, and techniques of positive behavioral supports. The community partnerships encourage the collaboration of community, family, and professionals to increase the number of inclusive programs for persons with ASD. Specific programs vary annually. For further information about any of the listed programs, please contact the programs directly, at the contact information listed.

Upcoming Programs

Unfortunately, due to statewide budget cuts, our planning for future programs is on hiatus. We will do our best to keep you informed of our plans moving forward. If you'd like to stay the must up-to-date please call or email us (information above) to join our list-serv. Please see below from some programs that are still happening in the community. We appreciate your support in this time of change!
