In Remembrance: Kathleen Trumbull

Kathleen TrumbullOur friend and colleague, Kathleen Trumbull, passed away at her home in Las Cruces, February 17, 2008, following a long and valiant struggle against cancer. For the past several years, Kathleen worked as a training and development consultant here at the CDD with both the Early Childhood Network and the Preschool Network, supporting early childhood, early care, and early intervention programs in the southwest part of the state. Prior to that she was a regional coordinator for the FIT program in the southwest and also worked for the TTAP at Western New Mexico University.

Kathleen brought a level of knowledge of children and families and commitment to our work that helped us all be better at what we do. Those who were fortunate enough to work with her over the years will remember her keen wit, her commitment to excellence, and her formidable intellect. We will never hear a Minnesota accent again without thinking of Kathleen and her recounting the antics of Sven and Ole!

Kathleen is survived by her husband, Mike, of Las Cruces; her daughter Kerry and family of Peru; and her son Paul and family of Tucson; as well as her parents, brothers, and sisters in Minnesota.

Should you wish to remember Kathleen, a message board has been established on the “Wall of Remembrance” website for ovarian cancer:
