To keep you updated with activities taking place through the CSPD efforts on the Navajo Nation, I am sending you a “Friday Fax” with information about current and upcoming professional development activities.

Current Events

This past week, training and technical assistance was provided as follows:

• This past week, training and technical assistance was provided as follows:
• The last class of the Teaching of Reading took place at Wide Ruins Community School last weekend (November 19).
• Technical assistance was provided to Kayenta Community School and planning is continuing to develop training activities for residential staff training in the spring.
• Discussion is continuing with Chi chiltah/Jones Ranch Day School for professional development training for residential staff in the areas of tutoring strategies.

The Mountain Plains Regional Resource Center’s (MPRRC) on-site evaluation visit of our CSPD project that was originally scheduled for December will be rescheduled for January 2006. We’ll provide additional details in future Friday faxes once those dates are finalized.

The Improving Communities of Practice office (UNM) will be closed for the Thanksgiving holiday.
