To keep you updated with activities taking place through the CSPD efforts on the Navajo Nation, I am sending you a “Friday Fax” with information about current and upcoming professional development activities.

Current Events

This past week, training and technical assistance was provided as follows:

• The Quarter meeting (June 21) of the UNM-NAU Improving Communities of Practice and the Western Navajo Agency ELO and education specialists was postponed and will rescheduled to a later date.
• The Improving Communities of Practice participated in the CSI teleconference (June 22) for the planning of the Institute for Instructional Leadership.

Some of your schools have web sites. If you are interested in providing a link to our website, please let us know. Anyone visiting your website might be able to find information about the training and technical assistance provided to the schools. Our technical assistance and training calendar will be restructured in the very near future.

Due to the upcoming Independence Day Holiday on July 4, the next Friday Fax will be sent out on Thursday, June 30th.

Finally, you may contact us at any time regarding professional development training plans and/or activities for the current or future school years. We always look forward to hearing from you as to how we might facilitate a plan, including Project IDEAS, for your agency or school or for providing technical assistance or training above and beyond what we have currently set out to do in the present scope of work.

July 18-22, 2005.

Classroom Management training for Ft. Defiance Agency general/special education teachers (east cohort) at UNM-Gallup.

July 25-29, 2005.

Classroom Management training for Ft. Defiance Agency general/special education teachers (west cohort) at Seba Dalkai Boarding School.

July 25-29, 2005.

Institute on Instructional Leadership, Minneapolis.

July 26-28, 2005.

Residential staff training for Aztec Dormitory, Camp Verde.
